The Wantable Company: Fashion, Fitness, Beauty, Accessories and Intimates @Wantableco @Dove

Subscription based companies having been trending now for some time, but the launch of The Wantable Company brings it to a new level. Style editors choose looks based on a short quiz taken by the consumer and 3 to 5 premium items are shipped to your home. Most companies offer one category, but Wantable offers fashion, beauty, fitness wear, jewelry and accessories.

What we like about the company is that shipping and returns are free, so if something in your package is not a favorite, then return it no questions asked. The brands are curated by the style editors who have expertise in what’s new and hot.

The first month is $40 and $36 every month after that. For $20 they will hand pick 5 items for you to try the first time around.

Recently The Wantable Company teamed up with Dove advanced care and they held a VIP event at The Trump Soho in NYC to introduce the new service and pair it with the new antiperspirant deodorant with 13 scents to choose from. Editors chose their own box to review, which was fitness based and we have to say we love ours.

Summer is the perfect time to discover new experiences whether traveling with the family, your girlfriends/buddies or looking to explore something new and a weekend getaway is the way to do it.

Three hours from New York and only an hour from Boston, Providence is a New England city with an up and coming music and art scene as well as becoming a foodie town as well. Home to the prestigious Brown University as well as the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Providence is very much a college town, but we got to discover it when school is out and realized how much there is to do there. Former MAC Cosmetics Executive Mathew Waitesmith recently launched a luxurious and super high tech brush collection. The shape of these brushes allows application to feel like using your fingers to give you superior control and flexibility. The elongated necks, aside from being artlike in appearance actually provide fluidity in applying the product.

Artis Fluenta brushes are composed of CosmeFibre with 250,000 individual fibres and they outperform standard brushes by being UV resistant, durable, and are resistant to chemicals found in makeup products. The best part is they are totally cruelty free!

The collection consists of 9 brushes ranging in price from $36 to $72, or $190 for the 5 piece set or $400 for the 9 piece collection.

The brushes are available at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.

Paula’s Choice 20th Anniversary Breakfast @PaulasChoice

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be invited to a breakfast to celebrate Skincare guru’s Paula’s Choice 20 years in the business.

We were treated to a delicious breakfast at The Standard Hotel, in the Meatpacking district ,while listening to Paula speak about her favorite products and why she has been able to succeed in this very competitive and sometimes saturated skincare market.

Her favorite products include RESIST Vitamin C Treatment for brown spots ($55), The Broad – Spectrum SPF 43 Sunscreen Spray ($25), Clinical K Treatment Cloths ($32), and The SUN 365 Self Tanning Concentrate ($18)

One of her newest and best selling products now is the Resist Hyaluronic Acid Booster ($45). It works well on all skin types and visibly plumps skin with an infusion of a good dose of hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronic to diminish the appearance of wrinkles.

For people with acne prone skin or a problem with blackheads Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BPA Liquid ($26) contains 2 percent salicylic acid (BHA) and has a pH that allows it to unclog pores and keep breakouts and blackheads from happening. It is fragrance free so if you if have sensitive skin or allergies it has proven to improve skin’s tone and texture.

Paula’s belief that quality effective skincare should be attainable and affordable is a major key to her success and longevity in the beauty business.

We were sent home with a bag full of goodies to try for ourselves including a bottle of Veuve Clicquot to celebrate the occasion.
