Skorpios is a modern Greek upscale seafood bar & grill located on a prime block right off 5th ave near Rockefeller Center. Restaurateur Lamia Funti, behind Lamia’s Fish Market, opened Skorpios with chef Loannis “Yiannis” Chatiris. Heavily focused on fresh seafood we feasted on grilled octopus, whole branzino, traditional greek spreads and free range chicken. Burger & Lobster is an international chain of restaurants with a simple menu focusing on delicious lobster dishes and juicy burgers. Live, wild Atlantic lobsters are delivered fresh daily to all the restaurants. The beef is grass-fed from Nebraska. The flatiron location is a large dimly lit space with a booths, tables and bar service. Lobsters range from the original 1.25 lb lobster grilled or steamed or a specialty lobster chosen from the tank that can be as large as 5 pounds. Sizes vary daily. Madame Ji NYC fuses traditional Indian cuisine with western flavors. Chef Abishek born in Delhi, raised in Queens, NY combines the spices of India with American comfort specialties like signature Mac & cheese samosas and chutney & cheese charcuterie board. Our favorites were the crispy cauliflower, avocado corn salad, chicken tikka, curry salmon, and the lamb chops. There is a also a very nice cocktail menu and offering of Indian beers. De Mole in Williamsburg, one of 3 locations, offers regional Mexican cuisine, headed by Chef Jose Luis Flores, with over 25 years of experience specializing in Mole Poblano. This staple dish of Mexico is featured in the dishes created at the restaurant. Our favorites were the ceviches, the “del mole” nachos, pollo con mole poblano and the tampiquena. 212 Steakhouse is an absolute must visit for any true steak lover. The only restaurant on the east coast to serve authentic Kobe Beef. The rest of the dining experience is fantastic as well. PJ Bernstein on the Upper East Side serves up traditional Jewish cuisine with some of the best sandwiches we tried in NYC. Anassa Taverna is a staple on the Upper East Side. Located across the street from Bloomingdales, the vibrant eatery offers delicious Mediterranean cuisine with a lively ambience. The Tuna Tartare, Shrimp Saganaki, Lamb Chops, and Grilled Lobster were our favorites and are highly recommended. The wine & cocktail menu doesn’t disappoint. Essex NYC is a modern eatery on the lower east side featuring American Cuisine with some fusion fare mixed in. The Yellowtail Crudo & Fresh Bluepoint Oysters were super fresh. The Truffle Manchego Mac & Cheese was creamy and the Braised Angus Short Rib was tender and cooked just right. There are a variety of flatbreads, and the Essex Burger with Hand Cut Fries are favorites. This Thanksgiving Essex is offering a 3 Course Pre-fix menu for $49.95 and $24.95 for kids. Restaurateur Massimo Bollini of Sam’s Place, has presided over this charming Italian Restaurant located in Murray Hill for over 34 years. Refined Italian Cuisine from Northern & Southern Italy. Massimo and his staff are some of the most gracious and friendly in town. We enjoyed the Baked Clams, Tortellini Soup, a variety of Homemade Pastas, Salmon, and the best Chicken Milanese ever.
