As a beauty and lifestyle writer I am always intrigued at how many new products are introduced that promise new technology and great results so I was very excited to try this new at home facial exfoliator.
The concept behind DERMAFLASH is inspired by Dermaplanning, an in office procedure where the aesthetician uses a sharp blade or scalpel together with light feathery strokes to remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz to achieve healthier and younger looking skin. I decided to try this product because Dermaplanning or shaving the top layer, has been a technique used for ages, even though many women would not admit to shaving their face.
The DERMAFLASH device is the first at home exfoliating device which delivers similar results and is easy to use and painfree and works on all skin types including acne prone and sensitive skin through sonic vibration, and only takes 10 minutes to complete once a week. I have been using this machine for 4 weeks now and have noticed smoother skin, less dullness, and my makeup applies easier and stays on longer because my skin is not as uneven.
DERMAFLASH comes with six edges, a PREP cleanser and a post treatment SOOTHE Hydrator and with step by step instructions. Here are instructions for use:
1.) Cleanse the face with PREP Cleanser, rinse well and gently pat dry.
2.) Load the machine with a new edge, hold the machine at a 45 degree angle facing inwards and with feathery strokes glide the machine inwards. Avoid lips, nose, and eyebrows. Treatment should take about 10 minutes.
3.) Apply The SOOTHE Nourishing Hydrator to help complete the treatment and to moisturize the skin.
The DERMAFLASH Facial Exfoliating Device retails for $189. Available at Sephora.com and Dermaflash.com.
A replenishment kit is available for $39 and comes with 6 more edges and a prep and sooth hydrator.
