Last week a group of beauty editors got a chance to partake in a master class taught by the always lovely and extremely knowledgeable Mary Pergoda. Mary has been the national training and promotions director for JF Lazartigue for the last 18 years and I guess you can say she’s his sidekick and muse when it comes to product development and sales.

Boots Beauty Launch NYC with Marina and The Diamonds @bootsbeautyusa
Boots, the legendary UK beauty company launched its New York City campaign with The Boots Beauty Experience at Walgreens and Duane Reade Stores across NYC. The experience for shoppers includes Boots Beauty advisors to offer tips, advice and trend info complimentary at locations selling their products. There will also be testing counters with samples to try before purchase.
The Boots line is quite comprehensive and the quality is top notch at a very consumer friendly price point. The line includes No 7 Skincare & Cosmetics, Botanics Skincare & Cosmetics, Expert, Extracts, Mark Hill, Champneys, and Indeed Labs.
The VIP launch party the other evening at Bailey’s Pub and Brasserie on Wallstreet across the street from the flagship Duane Reade featuring Boots Beauty was attended by various top editors, media, Boots executives, who flew across the pond for the celebration and a very special performance by UK’s own Marina and the Diamonds.

We all know and Love Christina Hendricks as the fiery and sexy red head Joan Harris on Mad Men, but now with the show behind her and with the last season ever about to premiere on Sunday April 5th, she was ready to make a change. As the nice ‘n easy ambassador she decided to embrace her roots, literally as Christina is a natural dark blonde, and go back to it.
The shade chosen for her #ShiftAShade campaign is Natural Medium Golden Blonde, which is a warm golden tone and works with her porcelain skin. Christina said the whole job took about an hour and left her hair soft and conditioned.

| Last week CEW had their annual product demo to showcase the hottest, newest and up and coming beauty brands on the market. Beauty Brands in every price point and category were included and there was so much to see and smell that we could have spent days walking the aisles and still not see every booth!
CEW partnered with global insight agency Mintel to show how related 2014 beauty trends are with the entrants of the Choice Beauty Awards, an event held at The Waldorf Astoria on May 15th, which celebrates best in beauty in every category from mass market to luxury. CEW President Carlotta Jacobson and Mintel released their trend report with the #1 trend being Makeup with Anti-Aging claims, launches of these type products rose from 17% in 2010 to 21% in 2014. #2 Blurring products for the Selfie Generation, with 10% of US facial Make-Up users looking for this type of product including 22% of 18-24 year olds. #3 Contouring, with launches of these products experiencing a 230% growth. #4 New Formats are emerging like cushion compacts which started hitting US shelves in late 2014 and are projected to accelerate in 2015. Bent on Learning 6th Annual Gala to Support Yoga in NYC Public Schools @bentonlearning
This past Tuesday night Bent on Learning held their 6th Annual Gala to Support Yoga Programs in NYC Public Schools. The charity dinner raised over $350,000 for the cause.
Blue Bloods actress Bridget Moynahan was the hostess and greeted guests to the dinner portion after the cocktail party and silent auction. Miss Yoga herself and Mrs. Baldwin then led students from the Children’s Workshop School and New Design High School to a live on stage yoga performance. Several students then spoke on stage about how yoga has profoundly helped them in their daily lives. The guest of honor was Gopi Kallayil, Chief Evangelist of Brand Marketing at Google. He discussed his feelings on the importance of yoga availability in public schools and then proceeded to do a brief session with the dressed up guests at the Gala.
Joining co-founders Anne Desmond and Jennifer Ford were Hilaria and Alec Baldwin, Bridget Moynahan, actor Kevin Navayne, Angel Kagame, First daughter of Rwanda, Former Ms. Teen USA Kamie Crawford, as well as other notables and board members.

Coco Rocha Cinderella Collection Launch for @HSN #Cinderella
| Supermodel Coco Rocha launched her first ever clothing line just in time for the release of Cinderella on March 13th. The collection is a much more modern version of Cinderella with more peplum skirts, pants, and jackets than fairy tale ballgowns. The look is very NYC chic inspired by her own model lifestyle.
HSN collaborated with other designers to complete the collection with opulent jewelry, embellished sandals, and a beauty line.
